USAID Sri Lanka BIZ+
The USAID BIZ+ project promoted economic growth in economically lagging districts in Sri Lanka by investing in small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The project created employment and expanded income earning opportunities for suppliers, agricultural producers, and other. This spurred economic growth while increasing household income levels. BIZ+ signed investment grant agreements with selected SMEs, detailing what each party would contribute and how the business would improve its production, profitability, and management practices. Partner businesses worked across many sectors, but were all commited to creating economic and social benefits.
