USAID Kenya Youth Employment and Skills
As a sub to RTI on the USAID Kenya Youth Employment and Skills (K-YES) program, we trained youth on agribusiness skills and linked them to access to opportunities to grow their business. We also forged linkages with key value chain actors, including producers, input suppliers, processors, retailers, exporters and associations to strengthen the sector through relationship building. Overall, this approach promoted youth employment and integrated youth businesses into agricultural value chains. K-YES provided motivated but disenfranchised youth the skills and support they needed to succeed in the workplace. With skills and vocational training designed in coordination with local industry, K-YES focuses on built relationships to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of education and employment.
