Our Approach

Sustainable agriculture requires customized solutions for each geography and value chain. We engage government financial institutions and actors across the agri-food system to catalyze innovative practices, products and policies that can fuel climate-smart agriculture. In turn, farmers, small businesses, and other actors are better equipped to seize opportunities that lead to more resilient, inclusive, and competitive agriculture systems.  

Across value chains, we drive efficiencies that reduce food loss and waste, optimize resource use, increase productivity, and attract private sector investments. For example, through a private sector alliance in Kenya and Ethiopia, we’ve demonstrated how a concerted investment in the animal feed sector can lead to livestock productivity gains, higher incomes for farmers, and lower greenhouse gas emissions intensity.
